Hansel and Gretel, reimagined for the concrete jungle. GRETEL is a solo spoken word performance with a live DJ, blending rhythmic storytelling, bass and sound to explore childhood, survival and what happens when protection isn’t guaranteed.

Homes don’t hold. Rules don’t always stick. A sofa appears. A bag must be carried. Two young people navigate a city where survival is learned and protection isn’t guaranteed.

GRETEL is a bold solo spoken word performance with a live DJ on stage, blending rhythmic storytelling, bass, silence and sound. Inspired by the classic fairytale, it explores childhood, poverty, survival and the systems that shape the choices available to young people.

Playful, immersive and pulsing with live music, this is a fairytale that refuses to sit quietly.
